Ill. Vol. Inf. during the civil war and surviving members were and have been always by is side and thoughts.   The night was never too dark, nor the weather to severe for him to make a house call.   His wife Mary Martin bore him seven children, four sons, three daughters.   Six living.   Three sons are engaged in the practice of medicine and studied with their father; Dr. Lang of San Francisco.   The late Dr. W. H. Hamilton of this city; Dr. Aldrich of this city; and Dr. Bunce were all his students.   His brother, Elias was also a surgeon of much note and died in San Francisco some years ago.   Funeral service M.
